Some of the boards, or the department where there is no board,
are in the process of updating health history questions on licensure
applications for health care professions. Please continue to use the
application as it currently appears online until rules are adopted that
will allow the department to replace these applications with updated versions.

Anesthesiologist Assistants
Anesthesiologist Assistants (AAs) are allied health professionals who
are recognized members of the Anesthesia Care Team. AAs are highly
trained anesthetists who work cooperatively under the direction of an
anesthesiologist to implement the anesthesia care plan. AAs are trained
in a professional graduate level program and earn a Master of Science in
Anesthesiology (MSA) degree. There was a recognized need to create a new
type of anesthetist who would complement the anesthesia care team with
unique contribution in such areas as equipment, instrumentation and
monitoring, and acute care physiology and pharmacology.
