EMT

An EMT is required to have 30 hours of CE's (Continuing Education) plus two hours HIV/AIDS and a current CPR card. EMT's can fulfill their CE requirements through:

PARAMEDIC

Paramedics are required to have 30 hours of CE's plus 2 hours of HIV/AIDS and a current ACLS card. Paramedics can receive their CE's from:

APPLICANTS WHO RECENTLY RECEIVED THEIR LICENSES

  • If this is an EMT or Paramedic's first renewal, a 2 hour HIV/AIDS update and current CPR card is all that is required.
  • Also, according to 64E-2.008(2)(a) The department will accept affirmation of a licensed EMS provider's medical director, or a certificate of completion of refresher training from a department approved Florida approved continuing education provider as proof of compliance with the renewal requirements.
