Can a Physician Assistant Baker Act a patient?

The Council, at a meeting held August 9, 2007 and the Board of Medicine at its August 11, 2007 meeting, reaffirmed the position that Physician Assistants may Baker Act patients as this is considered the practice of medicine." The Department of Children and Families requested an opinion from the Attorney Generals Office regarding this issue. The Attorney Generals Office issued an opinion that PAs can Baker Act.
