Initial Continuing Education Requirement for all Initial Licensees

Licensees initially licensed within the biennium are exempt from the CE requirements for renewal with the exception of the two (2) hour course relating to prevention of medical errors and three (3) hours of HIV/AIDS.  Beginning April 1, 2008, practitioners are required to attend six (6) hours of record keeping/documentation and coding and two (2) hours in the area of ethics and boundaries.

CE Broker Information for Providers and Licensees- Licensees may subscribe now and receive the personal benefits of continuing education tracking through March 31, 2010.

Medical Errors - Additional requirement of continuing education for initial licensure and renewal of license: 2 hours in the area of medical error prevention is required for initial license and renewal of license. This requirement is not in addition to the continuing education hours required for renewal, but a part of.

How To Become a Continuing Education Provider

All provider applications and renewals must be submitted electronically to the Department of Health at www.cebroker.com. Attachments to the application, which cannot be sent electronically, may be submitted by mail after the application is submitted electronically.
