Background Screening and Exemption
Application - Background screening for employment purposes may
be required for the Registered Nurse (RN), License Practical Nurse (LPN)
or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) depending on place of employment.
It is the responsibility of the employer to meet this requirement.
When this screening is required, it is pursuant to Florida Statute
435. This Chapter outlines certain offenses which will disqualify the
RN, LPN or CNA from employment unless an exemption is granted.
Public School Volunteer Practitioner Program - The Public
School Volunteer Health Care Practitioner Act (s. 381.00593, F.S.) was
enacted during the 2002 legislative session. The goal of this program is
to make a higher quality of health care available in Florida's public
schools by encouraging health care practitioners to volunteer their
services. This program is implemented by the Department of Health and
the Department of Education, in coordination with the "School Health
Services Act", s. 381.0056, F.S. |
