Background Screening and Exemption Application - Background screening for employment purposes may be required for the Registered Nurse (RN), License Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) depending on place of employment. It is the responsibility of the employer to meet this requirement. When this screening is required, it is pursuant to Florida Statute 435. This Chapter outlines certain offenses which will disqualify the RN, LPN or CNA from employment unless an exemption is granted.

Public School Volunteer Practitioner Program - The Public School Volunteer Health Care Practitioner Act (s. 381.00593, F.S.) was enacted during the 2002 legislative session. The goal of this program is to make a higher quality of health care available in Florida's public schools by encouraging health care practitioners to volunteer their services. This program is implemented by the Department of Health and the Department of Education, in coordination with the "School Health Services Act", s. 381.0056, F.S.
