Board Specialties
The Board of Osteopathic Medicine Rule 64B15-14.001(2)(h), F.A.C., provides guidelines on training and requirements for stating who can claim to be a specialists and/or claim to be certified. D.O.'s can only identify themselves as specialists if they have completed an AOA or ACGME postgraduate training program and can only claim they are "certified" if they are certified by one of the following recognizing agencies that meet the criteria outlined in the Board's rule:
- American Board of Medical Specialties
- American Osteopathic Association - Bureau of Osteopathic Specialties & Board Certification
- American Association of Physician Specialists, Inc.
