Prescription Drug Diversion Summit- On February 29, 2008 the Boards of Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing held a joint meeting to discuss pain management and prescription drug diversion issues in an effort to reduce the drug diversion problem in Florida, while assuring that patient access to appropriate and effective treatment of chronic pain is not compromised.

Volunteer Health Care Provider Program

Public School Volunteer Practitioner Program - The Public
School Volunteer Health Care Practitioner Act (s. 381.00593, F.S.) was
enacted during the 2002 legislative session. The goal of this program
is to make a higher quality of health care available in Florida's
public schools by encouraging health care practitioners to volunteer
their services. This program is implemented by the Department of
Health and the Department of Education, in coordination with the
"School Health Services Act", s. 381.0056, F.S.
