National Exam: Once the Board of Psychology has approved your application, Professional Examination Service (PES) will forward a computer based test (CBT) scan application for you to complete and return to PES. You will then submit $504 to PES when you return the CBT scan application. PES will verify that the CBT scan application is completed correctly and send you an authorization to test (ATT) letter. When you receive the ATT letter, you may contact Prometric and schedule the date and location of your exam. Prometric requires a $65 computer based testing fee to be paid directly to Prometric at the time you schedule the examination.

State Exam: The psychology laws and rules exam is a computer-based test administered on a continual basis by Prometric, Inc. You may schedule your examination through Prometric at any time, beginning 7-10 days from your receipt of a letter from the Board approving you for the exam. You will receive a preliminary exam score at the exam site. However, licenses cannot be issued until the board office receives official notification of your score from the Department of Health Testing Services. Approved candidates will pay $48 directly to the testing vendor in addition to the $75 paid to the Department.

  • You may obtain a Candidate Information Booklet (CIB) and study packet on the Department of Health Testing Services website at http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/Exam/index.htm. The CIB includes information about how to schedule your examination, examination procedures, and what you should expect after taking your examination. Study packets are only valid for the year listed on the front cover. Please verify that you are reviewing the appropriate packet for your scheduled examination.
