Conversion to Previous Psychology State Laws & Rules
Exam Vendor: Prometric
• Testing with Psychological Services Incorporated (PSI) will end on March 20, 2008.
• Prometric will resume candidate testing on March 21, 2008. Candidates may begin scheduling the Psychology Florida Laws & Rules exam with Prometric on Saturday, March 15, 2008.

• No action is required by candidates who were previously made eligible with PSI. Candidate testing authorizations will automatically be transferred to Prometric.
• Candidates will pay $48 to Prometric for the psychology laws and rules exam. The corresponding fee to be paid to the Department, as part of the $980 application fee, will remain at $75.
When Do Newly Issued Licenses Expire?
Licensure Biennium: All psychology
licenses expire the same day, May 31, of every even numbered year.
Licenses issued within 120 days of the expiration date will
continue into the next biennium. Licenses issued more than 120
days from the expiration date will expire at the end of the
current biennium.

Additional Education Requirements For Initial Licensure
- Two (2) hours shall be in a course relating to the Prevention
of Medical Errors. This course must be approved by the Board of
Psychology. A list of approved continuing education providers is
available at www.CEBroker.com

Application Deadlines
Section 120.60, Florida Statutes, states an agency is allowed 30
days from receipt of the application and fee to review an
application and notify the applicant in writing of any
deficiencies. If notification of application status has not been
received within 40 days of the Department’s receipt of the
application, you may contact the board's administrative office. It
is recommended that all applicants submit applications and
documentation as far in advance of deadlines as possible. Every
application for a license shall be approved or denied within 90
days after receipt of a completed application.
To ensure that your application is reviewed at the
next available board meeting, it
must be complete 30 days prior to that board meeting. |
